Vintage 1986 Avirex "Flying Team" Wool Varsity Jacket - Size S - 627 Bway NYC

Rare, authentic archival piece of streetwear history: a 1988 Avirex Flying Team Heavyweight Wool Varsity Jacket in a vibrant mustard yellow. Produced by Avirex Ltd., this aviation-inspired capsule piece features incredible historic details from the golden era of NYC hip-hop and streetwear.  Key Features:  Era: 1986 (Dated on the back patch)  Graphics: Large chenille FLYING TEAM script patch, embroidered vintage propeller airplane patch featuring the historic 627 BWAY NYC showroom address.  Material: Heavyweight melton/boiled wool body with striped elastic knit collar, cuffs, and waistband.  Lining: Fully insulated, diamond-quilted yellow satin lining.  Tags: Features the authentic American Classics by Avirex Ltd. woven collar label and the internal military-style contract specification tag. Good vintage condition. The patches are great shape, except for a few loose threads. The lining and front zipper are also in great shape. Please note there is minor fabric wear on the wool in a few small spots, consistent with a genuine 1980s garment (see photos for close-up details). Stored safely in a smoke-free environment.
