David Lee was born in Guangdong Province, China, in 1944.
He moved to Hong Kong with his family at the age of two.
Although he showed great talent as a painter from a young age, David Lee's father sent him to study medicine in Taiwan.
Even while studying in Taiwan, David Lee continued his art studies and held numerous solo exhibitions.
In 1969, he won first prize at the China National Painting Annual Exhibition, alongside renowned senior painters.
His parents eventually allowed him to abandon the path of medicine and dedicate himself solely to painting.
In 1993, he moved to Hawaii with his wife, Melinda, and has been concentrating on his painting in a large studio.
He also spends a lot of time in Paris, where most of his lithographs are produced in a workshop.
David Lee's naturalistic approach focuses on themes of birds, flowers, and all of nature, and his delicate artworks are highly acclaimed.
His works have garnered international attention and are collected by museums and universities worldwide, particularly in Europe and the United States.
