Born in Tokyo in 1984, Ai Kato graduated from the Barabara Art Class at Gekiga School under Makoto Aida in 2004. In 2007, she began live painting performances under the name Ai☆Madonna. Her activities are diverse, encompassing not only exhibitions but also collaborations with musicians, costume design for idols, and the publication of her first manga, Hakua (STOKE Inc.), last year, continuously expanding her expressive range.

Kato's creative foundation lies in her childhood memories. The girls she was drawn to in her youth, existing on a still ambiguous boundary between admiration and sexuality, remain vivid memories for Kato. She began drawing these beautiful girls, who are like goddesses, to encourage herself during her own complex and stressful adolescence. Even after making her debut and revealing her presence, she has continued to draw beautiful girls with unwavering dedication as the ultimate motif to express her emotions.
