Portrait of Kodai-kun, Fragment of the Thirty-Six Immortal Poets Scroll (Satake Edition)
This is one of the thirty-six immortal poets from the Satake edition, originally a scroll that was cut and remounted as a hanging scroll. Ko-Omi was a lady-in-waiting at the Imperial Court in the late 10th century and was selected as one of the thirty-six outstanding poets. This is a beautiful work with the exquisite layering of colors in her vibrant robes.
