Description
Thank you very much for viewing.
If you are considering this item, please read my profile.

This is an old furisode (long-sleeved kimono) that has been stored at home since purchase.
While subjective, based on the texture of the silk fabric and the patterns,
it is likely from the early to mid-Showa period.

The color is a beautiful and elegant ecru.
The exquisite silk fabric features a woven pattern of tatewaku (rising steam) and chrysanthemums and paulownia flowers.
The tatewaku pattern represents rising clouds or steam and is an auspicious design said to bring good fortune.

Additionally, the lavishly applied patterns depict several auspicious cranes flying upwards, rendered with gold thread embroidery and meticulous, detailed embroidery.
Within the cranes' feathers, auspicious patterns such as kikkou (tortoiseshell), shippou tsunagi (seven treasures linked), and seigaiha (blue sea waves) are depicted, embodying ultimate luxury.

The patterns on the white fabric are breathtakingly beautiful,
so vibrant they almost appear fluorescent.
The patterns are rendered solely in shades of blue,
with accents of silver, pink, white, and gold thread.
Admiring each individual pattern, I am moved by the exquisite aesthetic sensibility of our predecessors.

As this is an old item, there are some stains and discoloration.
There are color changes on both sides and the back where it was worn.
There are also a few brown stains and signs of wear on the lining of the sleeves.
There are no major, noticeable tears or scratches.

A matching nagajuban (under-kimono) is included.
The nagajuban also has some discoloration and stains from wear, but appears to have no tears or scratches. If you plan to wear this, we recommend having both the furisode and nagajuban cleaned beforehand.

This is a truly beautiful furisode that exudes an antique charm.
While there are some color changes on the fabric from wear,
the gold thread embroidery is intact, and the gold and silver leaf applications are almost entirely unpeeled.

Although this item has passed through many years, I would be delighted if it could be worn once more in the Reiwa era.

The listing includes the furisode, nagajuban, an orange-gold fukuro obi (bag obi),
and obiage and obijime (modern, used items) - a total of 5 items.
Other items, such as embroidered collars, are also currently listed.
