The shinai have been oiled and maintained for approximately 3 months.
They may feel a bit heavy when you first start swinging, but the oil will permeate throughout and then dissipate. After that, they are very durable and less prone to splintering. One shinai has a used grip attached, but the main body is almost unused. The other two are unused.
They are no longer needed due to a change in grade level.
The Suzaku is oval-shaped, light, and particularly easy to use for striking the kote (forearm guard). It promotes correct grip.
The Yuubu is solidly constructed and delivers a powerful impact.
They are very resistant to breaking.
