Vintage Gail Borden Amber Glass Half Gallon Milk Bottle 2 Quart 1950s Pyro-Glaze  Item Specifics Brand: Borden Dairy Company Color: Amber / Brown Material: Glass Type: Collectible Milk Bottle Size: Half Gallon (2 Quart) Era: Vintage (Circa 1945-1954) Country/Region of Manufacture: United States  This is a beautiful, authentic vintage Gail Borden Signature Quality amber glass half-gallon milk bottle dating to the late 1940s / early 1950s. Manufactured by the Owens-Illinois Glass Company at their Huntington, WV plant (indicated by the plant code 1 inside a double circle on the base).   Condition: Excellent vintage condition. The white applied color label (pyro-glaze) graphic featuring Gail Borden's silhouette is incredibly bright, crisp, and complete with virtually no fading or wear.  The strong, vibrant amber glass has no chips, cracks, or significant external scratches.  When held up to the light, the bottle shows authentic mid-century manufacturing features, including internal glass ripples and flow lines from the mold.  There are also several small, dark, splotchy marks/inclusions embedded on the inside wall (visible in photos). These are typical of vintage dairy glass from this era and add to its authentic, rustic character. Faint mold-texturing on the base as is typical for automated bottles of this era.
