What is a decorative fan?
It is said that fans originated from wooden tablets joined together, and the next development was the 5-ribbed Kawahori fan. While the dimensions were larger in the Heian period, the size of this decorative fan, convenient for display, is approximately 38 cm from top to bottom. The third generation of Miyawaki Baisenan in Kyoto devised the decorative fan as a craft item.
