Japanese Calligraphy Artwork, Framed
Google's AI priced this calligraphy by a monk from Daikaku-ji Temple at ¥19,000, but I'm unsure if the AI's valuation is accurate.
The gold shikishi (square paper) is surrounded by a navy blue velvet fabric, giving it a luxurious feel.
This framed calligraphy piece adds a gorgeous, calm, and high-class touch to Japanese-style rooms, guest rooms, or entryways.
It's also perfect for decorating guest rooms in ryokans, minshukus, or Japanese restaurants, and makes a wonderful gift for foreigners.
You can also remove the shikishi and mount it on a hanging scroll for use as a tea ceremony hanging scroll.
This item is unused and has been stored for a long time.
The glass has been roughly cleaned, but it will be even cleaner if you wipe both sides more thoroughly with a glass cleaner.
The Japanese paper inside is clean on the back as well.
The box has some damage.
