Beautiful Japanese-style shikishi (art board). I believe it depicts the zodiac sign of the Ox, an Uchide no Kozuchi (lucky mallet), and a motif for good fortune.
- Shikishi Design: Japanese style. Zodiac Ox. Uchide no Kozuchi and good fortune imagery.
The back has the 1997 calendar printed on it.
- Calligraphy Content: Reads Itsu no hi mo nakayoki koto wa, utsukushiki kana (Being on good terms with each other always is beautiful).
● This is a shikishi with designs of the zodiac Ox, Uchide no Kozuchi, and good fortune.
● The artist is unknown. There is a seal, but I lack the knowledge to read it. Those with deep knowledge may be able to identify it from the photos. If you simply like the design and want it, please consider it.
● It was displayed in the Special Japanese Art Frame that I am also selling separately. How about it as a decorative collectible?
● There are age-related stains, etc., but it was created around 1997 (Heisei 9). It is an old piece, approximately 30 years old, so please understand its condition.
● It will be triple-wrapped with cardboard on one side, a waterproof vinyl/poly bag, and wrapping paper, and shipped via Yu-Packet Post.
I do not have A3 or B4 size (size 0 or 1 square) envelopes on hand, so I will pack it in this manner.
