■ [Treasured Item] Koyasan Kongobuji Temple Okunoin Torodo Thirteen Buddhas Hanging Scroll - Shingon Buddhism, Buddhist Painting, Memorial Service, Lucky Charm (Y0508)
This is a highly sacred hanging scroll of the Thirteen Buddhas, bearing the official seals from Koyasan Kongobuji Temple, the head temple of the Shingon sect in Wakayama Prefecture, and from Okunoin Torodo, the sacred ground where Kobo Daishi entered eternal meditation.
The Thirteen Buddhas preside over memorial services from the 7th day after death to the 33rd anniversary. They have been cherished since ancient times for memorial services and as guardian deities for families.
Top center: Dainichi Nyorai
Right side: Koyasan Kongobuji Temple Seal
Left side: Okunoin Torodo Seal
Bottom right: Fudo Myoo
Drawn in a calm white drawing style (depicted with ink lines only), it possesses a very dignified presence. We recommend it not only for display in your tokonoma or Buddhist altar room, but also for memorial services for loved ones or as a guardian for your home.
