1980’s Paolo Gucci clip-on earrings featuring the iconic green and red enamel web stripes. This pair draws heavily from classic Italian equestrian motifs and showcases gold-plated stirrups in a door-knocker design. Stamped “Paolo” on the backings and measure 1” x .5” with secure clips. Excellent vintage condition. Paolo Gucci was the grandson of Guccio Gucci (the founder of the main fashion house) and served as the chief designer and vice-president of Gucci in the late 1970’s. Following intense family legal battles, he launched his own independent brand, Paolo Gucci, in the 1980’s. His standalone pieces are celebrated today as highly collectible vintage items reflecting the decade's love for dramatic, bold, and theatrical statement jewelry.
