Description
LAVA and OLIVINE by LAVA FANTASIA. Olivine is formed in the volcanoes. This unusual design of olivine backed by Hawaiian black lava brings you the beauty of this semiprecious gemstone in a natural setting. The green stones are typically olivine, a mineral often found in volcanic basalt and sometimes referred to as the Hawaiian Diamond. These sets were popular mid-century souvenirs, frequently sold by the Hilo Merchandise Co. in original display boxes similar to the one shown in your photo. Olivine (green volcanic mineral). • Metal: gold-tone metal • Style: Vintage Hawaiian costume jewelry, featuring a decorative scalloped gold-tone bezel around the stone.
