Antique Arts & Crafts Hammered Brass Amethyst Glass Brooch Pin w/ Box
Antique
This genuine antique diamond-shaped brooch is from the late Victorian to the Arts & Crafts era (circa 1890–1910). A Glimpse into the History: Emerging in the late 19th century as a rebellion against industrial mass production, the Arts & Crafts Movement celebrated the honesty of hand-hammered metals and natural motifs. This piece is a beautiful, classic representation of that philosophy. Deep purple stones like the faceted amethyst glass paste featured here were incredibly popular during the Edwardian period, often chosen to evoke a sense of regal, gothic romance. Condition Details: The Frame: Beautiful antique condition with a rich, authentic natural patina on the metal work. Please note: As is common with soft, hand-worked antique brass base metals that have been worn for over a century, the diamond frame is slightly warped. This minor bowing does not impact the stability of the central stone or the functionality of the pin back, but rather adds to its unique, lived-in antique character (please see macro photos for reference). The Hardware: Features a period-accurate, robust multi-ring hinge knuckle and an extended pin stem that locks securely into an early C catch mechanism. The Box: Comes nestled inside its original cream-and-gold marbleized presentation box which is in excellent condition for its age. Dimensions / Measurements: Size: Approximately 1 1/4” by 1 3/4” Shape: Symmetrical Diamond / Rhombus Offers welcome. Five star seller with quick shipping! ✈️
