【Not for Sale / For Staff Only】Commemorative Item for Successful ALFLEX Experiment | Predecessor of JAXA, Space Development

【Limited Distribution to Stakeholders - Not for Sale】

This is a set of a commemorative photo and envelope, distributed to a very limited number of stakeholders in Australia to celebrate the success of ALFLEX (Autonomous Landing Flight Experiment) conducted by the National Space Development Agency of Japan (now JAXA) in Woomera, Australia, in 1996.

ALFLEX was an experimental vehicle developed as part of the HOPE project, also known as the Japanese Space Shuttle, and was a project that brought together the technological capabilities of the time.
All 13 autonomous landing experiments were successful, laying the foundation for Japan's unmanned autonomous landing technology.

My father, who was stationed in Australia, supported negotiations between the National Space Development Agency and the Australian government, and this was directly presented to him as a token of their gratitude. I believe this is a historical document of space development that is difficult to obtain.

Photo: Excellent condition.
Envelope: There is a very slight yellowing in some areas, but it is generally in good condition.

The actual ALFLEX is currently on display at the JAXA Chofu Aerospace Center. I would like to pass this on to someone who can appreciate its documentary and historical value.
