vintage CorningWare P-10-HG Detachable Pot Handle (lock-on handle)  The Twist-Lock Mechanism: As you noted, the tip rotates. By twisting the knob at the end of the black handle, the metal jaw opens or closes to securely grip the lug (the small protrusion/handle) on a CorningWare dish.  Compatibility: This specific model is part of the P-Series and is designed to fit standard casserole dishes (like the P-41, P-4, or P-1.5 sizes)  late 1950s and early 1960s  Condition: there is a bit of surface residue on the metal jaws.
