Artist Biography: Born in Hamamatsu City, Shizuoka Prefecture. Started macrame (knotting) in 1974. Established the rope art studio Kyo in 1986. Studied design and dyeing to create original works with rope. Awarded the Grand Prix at Carousel du Louvre in July 2003. Exhibited Spilled Light at the Japan Art Collection in St. Petersburg in Russia in 2010.
