1937-03: Manufactured by Kisha Seizo Osaka, assigned to Hiroshima Railway Bureau, stationed at Ogori Depot
1938-02: Ogori Depot → Itozaki Depot → Tosu Depot → Oita Depot
1951-06: For express train service, exchanged tender with D51 12 (Minami-Nobeoka Depot)
1953-06: Kokura Factory - Installed Kokura-style (mon-deffu) deflector (modified mon-deffu)
1954-06: Removed from express service, tender exchange with D51 12 ended
1960-03: Oita Depot → Oita Driving Center → Miyazaki Depot → Wakamatsu Depot → Yoshimatsu Depot
1972-08: Yoshimatsu Engine Depot - Enlarged opening of the mon-deffu near the driver's cab
1974-04: Yoshimatsu Depot → Kagoshima Depot
1975-01: Transferred to Yoshimatsu, stored on a siding within the premises
1975-02: Scrapped (Kagoshima Depot) Total mileage: 3,382,307.5 km
1975-03: Loaned free of charge between the Superintendent of Kagoshima Railway Bureau and the Mayor of Yoshimatsu Town, Kagoshima Prefecture
1998-04: Relocated and preserved in the plaza in front of Yoshimatsu Station
2016-04: Preservation continues at Yusuicho Railway Park with a roof and regular maintenance
