Description
This is a vintage Pyrex #532 measuring cup estimated age Late 1940s to Early 1950s Several key details point to this era: • The Model Number: The #532 was the standard designation for the 1-quart (4-cup) liquid measuring cup during this period. • The Logo: The all-caps PYREX logo inside a circular stamp (rather than straight lines) was the standard for Corning Glass Works in the 1940s and 50s. • The Handle: The Closed D handle (where the handle is attached at both the top and bottom) is characteristic of pre-1990s vintage pieces. • Photographic Use Mark: During the mid-20th century, Pyrex was widely used in darkrooms because its borosilicate glass could withstand the temperature changes of chemical processing. The stamp General Household and Photographic Use Only was a common disclaimer during this era to show the item was versatile but not intended for commercial legal for trade measurement. Condition : preowned : Good. Light scratches on bottom and while most of the red lettering is vibrant there is some wear towards the bottom most markings . The inside of the cup also has an etched water line at the 4 oz mark. Please see pictures for details or ask for additional pics.
