Summer Flower Garden - Shinzo Maeda

This is a framed photograph from Takushinkan, the photo gallery of landscape photographer Shinzo Maeda, located in Biei Town, Hokkaido.

In July 1987, Shinzo Maeda, a leading figure in Japanese landscape photography known worldwide, was captivated by the Western-style scenery and continued to photograph the landscapes of Biei Town, the town of hills.
His works have been published nationwide in numerous photo collections and postcards, and have been used in corporate advertisements, commercials, movies, and television, introducing the beautiful hills of Biei. As a base for his activities in Hokkaido, he utilized a residence and a permanent exhibition space within the vast nature of Biei Town's Takushin, on the site of the former Chiyoda Elementary School, and named it Takushinkan. Here,
a large number of works, primarily focusing on the landscapes of Biei, are exhibited. Through Takushinkan, the beauty of Biei Town is widely disseminated both domestically and internationally to people who love photography and nature.
June 2022 marks the 100th anniversary of Shinzo Maeda's birth.

Purchased at Takushinkan in Biei Town, Hokkaido.
Purchased approximately 10 years ago. It has been stored since purchase and has never been displayed on a wall or elsewhere. The photo itself is approximately 12 cm.
The condition is good with no noticeable scratches or dirt.
