Vintage Wood Alphabet Blocks Set of 6 - 1950s Picture Cube Toys - Nursery Decor

Charming set of 6 vintage wood alphabet and picture blocks, each 1.75 inches square. Mid-century era, likely 1950s, unmarked. Each cube is a little scene changer: letters are cut out in white against solid red, blue, green, and yellow painted faces (spelling combinations like F, V, R, K, H, L and S, I, E, U, Y, X depending on how they're turned), and the remaining faces are hand-illustrated in soft vintage colors. Together the six blocks show a wonderful mix of imagery: a bunny in a top hat, mittens, a deer, birthday cake, teepee, sailor girl, a bell, owl, drum, cat in a bow tie, cardinal, goat, eagle, a girl with an Easter basket, anchor, sailing ship, sunflower, Statue of Liberty, a toy piano with the number 3, flowers, a trolley car, stacked books, gingerbread man, and an American flag. Wonderful as nursery decor, a shelf display, a photo prop, or for a collector of vintage toys. Wear is consistent with age and honest play: expect some paint chipping, fading, edge wear, and light scuffing throughout. Please review photos closely as they are part of the description. A sweet piece of mid-century childhood nostalgia ready for a new home. Every piece has a past. Find yours. Sarah / The Storied House Co.
