Vintage Royal Stafford English Bone China Lidded Jar Pink Roses Gold

Beautiful vintage Royal Stafford English bone china lidded jar, made in Staffordshire, England, circa the 1950s–1960s. This charming little piece features a classic fluted shape decorated with delicate pink tea roses. The lid has a warm yellow ombré finish, beautifully accented by hand-applied 22-karat gold gilding along the fluted ridges and the small finial handle. The shape was traditionally used as a preserve pot, jam or jelly jar, or small covered sugar bowl, although it would also make a lovely decorative piece or vanity container today. Royal Stafford was a Staffordshire pottery manufacturer based in the historic Stoke-on-Trent area of England, one of the world’s most important centers of ceramic production. The romantic floral decoration and combination of soft colors and gold are quintessential mid-century English china.
