Vintage Ceramic Blueberry Pie Baking Dish with Cover

This distinct pinwheel spiral blueberry keeper was produced during the 1980s by the Universal Trumps Corporation, a major novelty kitchenware distributor of the era that manufactured these sets out of Taiwan. The piece belongs to a popular retro trend of trompe l'oeil (fool-the-eye) kitchenware. Manufacturers created realistic food-shaped ceramic savers—including matching apple, cherry, and pumpkin varieties—designed to hide a real pastry underneath while making it look like a freshly baked pie was permanently sitting on the counter. It is made of thick, glazed ceramic earthenware. The entire unit spans roughly 10.75 to 11 inches in diameter, making it deep enough to act as a functional dome over a standard 9-inch glass or metal pie pan. Lid features alternating deep-blue textured blueberry mounds and wavy, tan-glazed pastry crust strips. A three-dimensional ceramic bow handles the top center to serve as the lid grip. The bottom pan features a highly detailed, retro-style illustration detailing a printed blueberry pie recipe directly on the glaze floor. Not sure if I will sale this or not.
