Japanese Sword Remnant Craft Knife No. 99 Norimitsu Nakago
● This is a craft knife made from a remnant of a Japanese sword.
It is a size that does not require registration.
Everything shown in the photos is included.
Immediate purchase is welcome.
Transactions without communication are also acceptable.
● This is made in a workshop with a Shinto shrine dedicated to Hachiman. When completed, it is offered as a prayer, making it ideal as a protective sword.
How about it as a celebration gift for a child's birth or as a companion for living alone?
● Material Description
・ The inscription is Norimitsu.
Bizen Osafune Norimitsu. This line continued from the late Kamakura period to the late Muromachi period, leaving behind many famous swords.
・ The hamon (temper line) is a fine straight temper line.
・ Although still crude, it has been polished with natural whetstones, similar to Japanese swords.
・ The scabbard and handle are made of Japanese cypress and finished with cashew lacquer.
・ All fittings are antique. The fuchi and kashira are from the Edo period.
・ The sword bag is a remake of kimono fabric.
・ The mekugi (peg) is made of smoked bamboo.
・ This product is the tang (nakago) of the sword, not the tip.
● Size
・ Blade length: 14.1 cm
・ Thickness at base: 5.3 mm
・ Overall length: 29.8 cm
・ Weight without scabbard: 327 g
・ Overall length with scabbard: 32.7 cm
・ Weight with scabbard: 386 g
● Notes
・ As antique materials are used, there may be scratches, rust, etc. Also, I am not a professional knife maker. Please refrain from purchasing if you are looking for the quality of new manufactured goods.
・ Since it is made from a remnant of a Japanese sword, it is prone to rust. Think of it like a steel kitchen knife. The lacquered scabbard is particularly prone to rust due to poor ventilation.
・ Regarding the inscription, there is no certificate of authenticity, so the authenticity is uncertain.
・ As this item is listed on multiple sites, it may be out of stock depending on the timing.
