Description
【A Historical Gem Over 130 Years Old - The Roots of Leica】
This is a brass microscope manufactured by the long-established German optical manufacturer, **Ernst Leitz Wetzlar.**
Ernst Leitz was the company that would later become the world's premier camera brand, **Leica,** and this item is a precision instrument that can be considered the origin of that history.

■ Manufacturing Year and Serial Number
Based on the serial number No.11324 engraved on the body, it is estimated to have been manufactured in 1888 (Meiji 21).
This is an extremely rare antique item, made over 135 years ago, even before Oskar Barnack, the creator of Leica, joined the company.

■ Product Condition
Body: Made of heavy brass, it has developed a deep, aged patina.
Case: Comes with its original wooden case, believed to be from the same era. The case retains an old label that reads 顕微鏡 (Microscope), hinting at its history of being imported to Japan.
Functionality: Moving parts such as the coarse adjustment knob are functional. However, as this is a very old precision instrument, please consider it as a historical artifact or antique interior rather than for practical use.

■ Accessories
Microscope body
Original wooden case
Eyepiece, etc. (everything shown in the images is included)

This is a masterpiece that we highly recommend for camera collectors, antique optical instrument enthusiasts, or anyone looking for a special piece of interior decor that evokes a sense of history.
