Description

This is a Japanese sword Tsuba (hand guard). It is a Japanese Sword Fitting Dragon Design with gold leaf decoration on the dragon and its surroundings. This is an antique and vintage sword fitting.
This tsuba is characterized by its black base color with a three-dimensional carved gold leaf dragon design.
It is a traditional pattern called Dragon Design, depicting a dragon flying through clouds, commonly made with shakudo or copper with colored copper gold inlay applied, which is typical.
Size: Diameter 8 x 6.5 cm

Due to age, the gold leaf on the surface is partially peeling. The back side is even more peeled.
A portion of the tsuba's edge is missing by about 1.5mm, so please be careful when handling it. (Image 3)
