Tanto Tsuba - Kuida-Tsuba - Iron Base, Raised Square Motif Inlay Tsuba - Unsigned - Nuno-me Zogan (Cloth Pattern Inlay) - Single Hole for Nakago - Forged Tsuba - Overhanging
Iron Tsuba with Rounded Corners and Inlaid Design, Unsigned, Nunome Zogan, Single Hole for Hitsu-ana, Forged Tsuba
This is a short sword tsuba made of iron. Something is depicted within the small tsuba using nunome zogan inlay, but it is unclear what it is. Recommended for a dignified short sword mounting.
A hamidashi tsuba (protruding tsuba) is a small tsuba that protrudes slightly outward from the edge of the saya (scabbard) or tsuka (hilt).
It is characteristically seen mainly in short sword mountings. Despite its small size, it has practical functions and is used as decoration for small swords (chisagata-na), and has existed since ancient times in the history of Japanese short swords.
As it is an old item, there are signs of age-related dirt and rust. Please check the images.
