A real piece of Chicagoland retail history — this gold metallic purse carries the label of Jacqueline's Fashion Accessories, sold at two now-vanished mid-century mall hubs: Hillside Shopping Center (opened 1956, one of the first major regional malls in the Chicago suburbs) and Waukegan's Lakehurst Mall (a 100-store regional mall that opened in 1971 and closed in 2004). Both are long gone, which makes this little gold purse an actual survivor of a lost era of American mall culture. Note: the strap is missing — this one carries clutch-style, by hand.
