William Morris considered tapestry the noblest of all the arts, and his company, Morris & Co., produced outstanding works based on Arthurian legends, medieval romances, and mythology, like these pieces.

④ Furniture Fabric Strawberry Thief 1883
Design: William Morris

This is one of Morris's most famous designs.
He named the pattern and the design after the thrushes that frequently stole strawberries from the kitchen garden at his country home, Kelmscott Manor, in Oxfordshire.
Despite being one of the most expensive printed furnishings sold by Morris & Co., this design became a firm favorite among customers.
