Clays in Calico Salt & Pepper Shakers Studio Pottery Redware Glazed Browns These are a pair of vintage 1977 studio pottery salt & pepper shakers made by Clays in Calico, Cardwell, Montana. This company is known for their organic, distinctive marbled and swirled effect, usually in shades of brown and cream. When these distinct clay colors are thrown together, the slip or raw clay mixes just enough to resemble a calico or marbled agate gemstone pattern before being finished with a smooth, glossy clear protective glaze. The shakers have their original stoppers and are in excellent condition. To differentiate the shakers, one has 3 holes in a row, the other has 3 holes in a triangle. Cleaned before packing. Dimensions: 4 high, 2 across the base. Excellent condition; no scratches or marks other than natural when being created.
