Antique Wm Rogers Son AA Plymouth 1897 13" Soup Tureen Ladle Silverplate

This impressive serving ladle features the highly decorative Plymouth pattern with flowing scrollwork extending from the handle into the bowl. The reverse is clearly marked Wm. Rogers & Son AA with the PAT. JUN. 8 '97 patent date. The AA hallmark denotes a heavier grade of silverplate, commonly referred to as double plate. Measuring approximately 13 inches in length with a 4-inch diameter bowl, this substantial serving piece is believed to have been intended as a large soup or tureen ladle based on its size and form. Comparable examples of this size in the Plymouth pattern are rarely encountered, making it an appealing addition for collectors seeking to complete a set or display an exceptional Victorian serving piece. Condition Very good antique condition with expected age-related wear from over a century of use. The bowl displays light utensil scratches consistent with normal serving use, while the ornate Plymouth pattern remains crisp and well-defined. No dents, cracks, repairs, or monograms were observed. The silverplate retains an attractive vintage patina. Please review all photos carefully before purchasing as they are part of the description. Features Wm.
