This sword features a unique hamon (temper line) that is said to have been created by Izuminokami Kanesada. It is a double-layered hamon with a gonome yahitobi pattern and straight lines, featuring a groove (hi). The yahitobi is said to be modeled after the fletching of an arrow in traditional archery. Kanesada-style swords are known for their sharpness and are designated as artistic crafts. It is famously known that Toshizo Hijikata, the vice-commander of the Shinsengumi, favored carrying such swords. Please take this opportunity to add it to your collection. This sword is suitable for beginners and intermediate practitioners of iaido. The koiguchi (mouth of the scabbard) is reinforced with genuine leather for practical use. There are no cracks in the scabbard. It is also suitable for display, cosplay, and collection.
While the overall condition is clean, there are very minor scuffs and scratches. Please understand that this is a used item before purchasing.
