This sword features Yagyu mountings with a slender (flat-shaped) handle. The fittings,
including the fuchi-kashira (collar and pommel cap), menuki (ornaments), koiguchi (scabbard mouth), and kashira (pommel end),
are all finished in oxidized silver.
The saya (scabbard) has a carved wood black lacquer finish.
The tsuba (hand guard) is made of iron and features a Yotsubishi Sukashi (four-diamond openwork) design.
The blade is a copy of the Higonokami Yasumitsu, said to be the beloved sword of Yagyu Ren'yasai (Genshun),
and features a Gunome Choji Midare (irregular wave and clove-shaped pattern) double hamon (temper line).
This sword's hamon shimmers and disappears depending on the angle of light. The arrangement of gunome with pointed edges is a highlight of this Yagyu-style sword.
