This is a classic Salmon-Eating Bear (with a base) featuring a beautiful焼き目 (yakime -焼き目 means burnt finish or seared finish) in a natural wood color, with a charming face.
On the back of the base, there are inscriptions: 1967 and Hokkaido Travel Commemoration, along with what is likely the name of the original owner.
*We have not included a photo of the back of the base as it may contain personal information.
This bear has a very cute face, a beautiful color, and a nice-looking base. It was displayed for a long time on top of the shoe cabinet in the entryway. We are now selling it as part of a home organization effort.
It would be a perfect accent piece for your entryway or Japanese-style room. ^_^
While there may be some age-related wear consistent with its age, it is generally in good condition.
