38cm tall scale! Vintage woodcraft wood carving cat, cat figurine, beautiful wood grain

This is a vintage wooden carved cat. It is a folk craft made in Thailand, and its expression, looking straight ahead with its slightly upward-looking, round eyes, is very endearing. The posture with its front paws together and its neck elegantly extended is also cute.

Although the type of wood is unknown, it is surprisingly heavy and made of a magnificent, high-quality wood with a grain comparable to teak or rosewood. You can see that the craftsman has skillfully utilized this grain in its finishing. While cute, it has a good balance that isn't overly saccharine, making it a good match for vintage furniture.
