This item is a Chinese seal that my grandfather kept in his home for many years. It was cherished as part of his collection from when he enjoyed calligraphy and collecting.
m(_ _)m

Believed to be a type of Chinese seal material, it was likely used for both practical purposes and as a decorative item.

■
Dimensions: Approx. 1.8cm square
Length: Approx. 7cm (to the tip of the mythical beast)
Weight: Approx. 55g (has a substantial feel)
Material: Stone-type seal material (cool, beeswax-like texture characteristic of Shoushan stone)
Includes: Paper and cloth box

The stone has a beautiful appearance with peach to reddish-purple marbled cloud patterns, similar to芙蓉石 (Furong stone). It has an oily smoothness that feels like it adheres to the fingers, and a luster like beeswax.
The top features a three-dimensional carving of a mythical beast resembling a dragon, capturing a dynamic moment as it breathes fire while looking back. The scales, fangs, claws, and flames are all intricately carved.

The reversing pose is considered an auspicious design often used in mythical beast carvings.

■Seal stones from around the 1980s are aged items, and may exhibit a subdued stone surface different from modern products.
■
This is an antique item that has been stored unused for a long time.
Please consider this item only if you understand that there may be minor scuffs and scratches due to age, and changes in the stone surface, which are characteristic of natural materials and vintage items.
m(_ _)m

This item is for those who can appreciate the character of a unique piece that has aged over time, rather than seeking the perfection of a new item.
We hope you can feel the presence of the stone that has quietly accumulated time.
