【Inspection Complete / For Beginners】Kenko SW 50A Astronomical Telescope

This is the Kenko SkyWalker SW 50A. This telescope is recommended for beginners, which is rare for this type of product, as it's from a manufacturer that often markets subpar telescopes as beginner-friendly.

At first glance, it looks similar to the SW-0 often seen on this site, with a tripod that's usually unusable. However, the tripod on this model is completely different.

Furthermore, the SW50A is an affordable and good telescope, surprisingly so considering it's made by the same manufacturer responsible for extremely poor quality telescopes like the T50600, which are also frequently listed on this site.

[Reasons Recommended for Beginners]
1. As a telescope that can be purchased new for under 10,000 yen, the performance of the telescope itself is almost the same as the older model, the SW-0. For a compact scope with a short focal length, it offers clear views.

2. The tripod is completely different. It's a completely different unit from the SW-0. While it's a low-cost item, the tripod is very well-made. It might be a bit difficult at first, but once you get used to it, this tripod allows you to track stars relatively smoothly.

3. It comes with a smartphone adapter, and because the tripod is sturdy, it's reasonably usable.

4. It has eliminated the unnecessary inclusion of a Barlow lens for a ridiculous 270x magnification, unlike the SW-0.

[Points to Note]
1. While it's generally a good telescope, due to the performance limitations of short focal length models, 90x magnification with the included 4mm eyepiece is a bit challenging. The image becomes slightly blurry. On inferior models, the image becomes very blurry, but on this unit, while it blurs, it remains somewhat acceptable.
Ideally, 45x magnification with an 8mm eyepiece would be the appropriate high magnification, but this would require a separate purchase.

2. We have confirmed that the product is in working order. To prevent issues, returns and complaints are not accepted. Thank you for your understanding.
