Antique Marx‎ & Gutherz Carlsbad Austria Oyster Plate Pink Oyster 5 Wells Floral

Antique Marx & Gutherz Carlsbad Austria Oyster Plate featuring five molded oyster wells hand-painted in soft pink with gilt accents and an unusual floral vine border in warm yellow, gold, and brown tones. This striking Victorian-era oyster plate was produced in Carlsbad, Austria and showcases the delicate hand decoration and sculptural form prized by collectors of antique oyster ware. The reverse retains the blue Marx & Gutherz Carlsbad Austria mark together with original hand-painted factory decorator and pattern numbers. Collectors sometimes refer to this style as a flying saucer oyster plate because of its shallow profile and graceful molded oyster wells. The uncommon floral border sets this example apart and gives it wonderful display presence whether used in a collection, coastal décor arrangement, or antique porcelain display.
