Description
Wing Lee Wai stoneware liquor bottle from Hong Kong, likely dating from the mid-20th century. This piece features a rich, dark brown glaze with a bulbous body and a flared rim. The front is embossed with the mandatory post-Prohibition warning: FEDERAL LAW FORBIDS SALE OR RE-USE OF THIS BOTTLE, which dates the production between 1935 and 1964. The underside is clearly stamped with the maker's mark WING LEE WAI HONGKONG. This heavy ceramic jug was originally used for traditional Chinese spirits and now serves as a fantastic rustic decor piece or addition to a vintage barware collection. The glaze has a nice earthy texture with minor natural kiln imperfections typical of stoneware. Measurements: • Height: 6.5 • Base Diameter: 3 Always open to offers, and happy to combine shipping!
